October 21, 2012SIOUX CITY | Gladys Patterson, 92, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Oct. 19, 2012, at her home in North Mankato, Minn.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield, Minn. Burial will be at a later date in Correctionville (Iowa) Cemetery.
Gladys was born Nov. 18. 1919 in Sioux City to William and Nancy Ellen (Livengood) Winford.
She is survived by two sons, Grant (Manda) of New Town, N.D., and David (Nancy) of Herndon, Va.; a daughter, Marsha (Doug) Balfanz of Nicollet, Minn.; six grandchildren, Clint Balfanz, Christy Ellen Balfanz-Rice, Amanda and Cassandra Patterson, Hannah Ruth and Adam Patterson; and four great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Petra Balfanz and Charlie and Kovyn Rice.
She was an active member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield. Gladys was an avid walker and reader, loved crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, sewing and traveling. Gladys was a good friend to many, loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman G. Patterson; three brothers; and a sister.
