SIOUX CITY | Jeffrey Earl Bunce, 52, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at his residence.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Speidel officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the 1st Squad, 113th Calvary of the Iowa Army National Guard. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.

Jeff was born on April 8, 1960, the fifth of six children of Robert Lee Bunce and Anna Laura (Cannady) Bunce. Jeff attended Sioux City public schools and graduated from West High School in 1978. Following graduation, Jeff served three years in the U.S. Army as a member of the elite 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). He worked for many years at Sioux City Brick and Tile Company and in recent years at Alorica and Bomgaars.

Jeff was an avid reader, a trait that he inherited from his mother. He also was an avid cribbage player once being dealt a perfect hand by his brother, Bruce. An accomplished amateur mechanic, Jeff could always be counted on to help friends and relatives repair their vehicles. He grew up as a member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church.

Jeff is survived by his mother, Anna Bunce of Sioux City; one sister, Gayle (Marv) Couron of Sioux City; four brothers, Keith, Bruce (Kim), Rick (Sandy), and David (Nancy), all of Sioux City; one aunt, Judy (Larry) Kelting of DeRidder, La.; five nieces; four nephews; 16 grandnieces and nephews; and his other brother, Steve Herfel of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Robert; and one nephew, James.
