October 12, 2012SIOUX CITY | Christa Walraven-Eichenlaub of Sioux City passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family in Eindhoven, the Netherlands on Oct. 3, 2012.
Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Services were held in the Netherlands on Oct. 8 and 9.
Christa was born the eldest child of Joost and Mieke Walraven in the city of Gorinchem, the Netherlands on Aug. 13, 1967.
On Aug. 10, 2005, she married Jason Scott Eichenlaub. She came to live in the United States in January 2006 and the couple renewed their vows on June 24, 2006, in McElhattan, Pa. She was preceded in death by her husband Jason on Sept. 6, 2007. Intens verdrietig zijn wij dat onze mooie, bijzondere dochter,zus, schoonzus en tante voorgoed van ons weg is gegaan. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece and dear friend. She worked for Par Mar Security as the assistant sight supervisor at Port Neal. Christa always had a bright smile and a cheerful Dutch hello.
She is survived by her parents, Joost and Mieke Walraven; her brother and his wife, Sjoerd and Karen Walraven and their children, Pieter and Lieke; as well as many close friends.
In lieu of flowers her family asks that memorials be directed to CSADV or the Humane Society.
