MOVILLE, Iowa — Harold Felhaber, 92, of Moville died Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. Michael Kroona officiating: Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery at Moville. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 8 p.m. today, with family present. from 12 noon to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m., at McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville.

Mr. Felhaber was born Sept. 1904, at. Gibsonburg, Ohio, to Fred and Emma (Wilck). He moved with his family to Humboldt, S.D., where he was baptized and confirmed in the German Lutheran Church. He at¬tended Humboldt High School, graduating in 1923. While in high school he was active in sports and began working in the local newspaper office. He attended South Dakota State College. He played semi-pro baseball with the Nebraska State Leagues and in many towns where he worked. He worked on newspapers in Oregon, and was the editor and publisher of several newspapers in South Dakota, Iowa, Ohio and Nebraska. He was the editor and publisher of the Moville Record for many years. He married Fern Hanson Oct. 2, 1928, at Huron, S.D. She died Jan. 15, 1982, at Sioux City. She helped with the newspaper business until their retirement, when they moved back to Moville. In 1978 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and the greenskeeper at-the Meadows Golf Club in Moville for many years. He took wedding photos in the Moville area and made several grandfather clocks. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Sheila and LoWell "Bud" Groom of Richardson, Texas, Denise and Ken Kettelson of Hendersonville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lavon Waldner of Huron, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin; a sister, Elinor Magnusen; and a great granddaughter.
