September 11, 2012Anna "Ann" Marie Hassett, 95, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, formerly of Sloan, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Tompkins Memorial Health Center in Fort Dodge.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Corpus Christi Church in Fort Dodge. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Anna Marie (Brell) Hassett was born April 4, 1917, in Sloan, the daughter of Jack and Margaret (McGivern) Brell. She attended high school in Sloan.
She married Bob Hassett on Aug. 19, 1939. The couple lived in Detroit until 1948, when they moved to Sloan. They moved to Fort Dodge in 1955. After Bob retired in 1985, they lived in Glendale, Ariz., until returning to Fort Dodge to reside at Friendship Haven.
Survivors include three daughters, Margaret "Micki" (Don) Laddusaw, Pat Hassett (fiance Stan Jones) and Rosemary "Rusty" Hassett; three sons, Robert (Lynda) Hassett III, Jim (Donna) Hassett and Dick Hassett; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Gert Friis and Mary (Roger) White; and a brother, Jim "Tom" Brell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 2005; her son, Joe in 2009; her parents; her stepmother, Helen Brell; sisters, Helen Millinger and Eulalia "Jimmy" Wagner; and her brother, Jack.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
