SIOUX CITY | Ramona "Mona" Graham, 82, of Sioux City went to be with the Lord suddenly on Aug. 22, 2012, in Anchorage, Alaska, while visiting her sons, Mark and John in Alaska, a trip that Mona and Jack made every year for 30 years.

Celebration of life services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Morningside Lutheran Church, 700 S. Martha St., with the Rev. Paul Andell officiating.

Ramona was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Viborg, S.D., to Walter and Anna Simpson. She attended Castana High School, where she was valedictorian, and then attended business college in Chilicothe, Mo. She moved to Sioux City, where she met her husband in 1951.

She married Jack Graham on May 17, 1952, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. Jack and Mona lived in Dakota City prior to moving to Sioux City in 1966. Mona was employed in the secretarial field for lawyers and for many years as an administrative secretary for Mercy Medical Center (formerly Marian Health Center) prior to retiring.

She was an active member of Morningside Lutheran Church and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dakota City prior to moving to Sioux City. Mona was a Certified Professional Secretary. She was a member of the Craft and Culture Club and was a Hospice volunteer.

Mona's family was her first priority. Her family has great memories of Mona's wonderful cooking. She dearly loved her Yorkie, Joey, and large family gatherings. She was a caregiver for numerous family members throughout her life. Mona was a devout Christian. The family is comforted knowing she is with the Lord.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jack; four children, Terri and Dan Hubert of Aloha, Ore., Jeanne and Rex Asmann of Medina, Ohio, John and Candie Graham of Palmer, Alaska, and Mark and Terri Graham of Eagle River, Alaska; grandchildren, Chad Hubert, Ryan Hubert, Jennifer Wesolowski, Brittney and Kristina Asmann, Calvin Graham, Kellie Morrow, Jodi Minter and, Cody Graham; seven great-grandchildren; and lifelong friends, Dick and the late Ramona Meuret.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Walter and Anna Simpson; brothers, "Junior" Simpson and Kenny Simpson.
