SIOUX CITY | Eileen J. Hanson, 83, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at a local hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpedling officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Eileen was born on March 3, 1929, in Kimball, S.D., the daughter of George and Anna (Thompson) Mashek.

Eileen married Robert L. Hanson in 1947 in South Sioux City. Two children were born of this union, son, Jack in 1948 and daughter, Cheryl in 1949. Eileen worked at Morey's and Raymonds for many years until its closure. She moved on to serve lunch and monitor recess at Hunt School until her retirement.

Eileen enjoyed bingo, and cooking for her family. Her milk gravy was always a big hit. Eileen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bingo Bob; son, Jack and his wife, Patricia; daughter, Cheryl; four grandchildren, Carrie Jo, Kyle, Lora and Lisa; eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Kalleigh, Malyssa, Miranda, Ty, Trey, and Kayla; and two great-great-grandchildren, Marlie and James. Eileen left many friends and relatives. A special shout out to Dorie.

She was preceded in death by an aunt, Marge (by one day); her parents; and her eight siblings.

Pallbearers will be Eileen's eight grandchildren. How lucky is she.
