Elmer A. Schibonski, 84, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1996, at a hospital in Denver.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Wood Funeral Home in Sloan, Iowa, with the Rev. Edgar Elliott, church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery in Holly Springs, Iowa. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Schibonski was born March 7, 1912, in Benton County, Mo., the son of Fred and August (Leyk) Schibonski. He married Mabel Marie Forney on Nov. 26, 1936, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sioux City. The couple moved from Sioux City to Denver in 1952. Mr. Schibonski worked for various hotels in Sioux City, Omaha, and Denver for 60 years.

Mr. Schibonski was a charter member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Denver, Colo.

Survivors include his wife Mabel of Denver; a brother, James of St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Elaine Lewis of Clearwater, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
