Lisa F. Gritten, 47, of Sioux City entered into rest Sunday, May 29, 2011, after a long and hard fight with many illnesses.

Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Deacon Pat Roberts officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Online condolences may be posted at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Lisa was born Dec. 20, 1963, to Boyd and Connie (Hubbard) Hightree. She was raised in Walthill, Neb.

Following her graduation, Lisa moved to Sioux City where she met and married David Gritten on Sept. 17, 1988. To this union, two children were born, a daughter Nicole and a son Sean.

Lisa worked at Casa de Paz as a CNA and CMA for 17 years before she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Lisa had many battles with illnesses through the years, but she made the best out of every situation in life and always thought of others before herself.

Survivors include her daughter, Nicole Gritten; her son, Sean Gritten and his fiancee Casey Woods; her parents, Boyd and Norma Hightree; a brother, Alan Hightree; grandchildren, Landon and Abigail Gritten; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, David in 2008; and her mother, Connie.
