Lester E. Wright, 78, of rural Leeton, Mo., formerly of Correctionville and Anthon, Iowa, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 5, 2011, at his home.

Graveside services will be at a later date in a cemetery in Correctionville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor, Mo. Condolences may be posted online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com.

Lester was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Correctionville, the son of Lester Orville Wright and Edna Emma (Roggatz) Wright.

On July 10, 2000, he married Lisa Ann Riemenschneider in Las Vegas, Nev.

While Lester owned and managed several successful business enterprises, he always came back to his first love, truck driving, something he started at age 16. These businesses included, among others, Wright Transfer, Wright Trucking and Chuckwagon Restaurant in Moville, Iowa. In addition, Lester was a bonded/licensed State of Iowa grain dealer, purchasing corn and soybeans from several producers in the area. After moving to Windsor, he drove for Royal Oaks Hospital transporting patients. After retiring from Royal Oaks, he bought a farm and began raising cattle. As his health began to decline, he "sold out" and moved to Iowa. After his health improved, he and his wife moved back to the Leeton/Windsor area to "take it easy and enjoy life."

Survivors include his wife, Lisa of rural Leeton; a son, Gary (Nyla) Wright of Sioux City; three daughters, Debbie Wright of Denison, Iowa, Vickie (Dale) Wilson of Correctionville, and Lorie Wright of Correctionville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a stepson, Kyle Dixon of Lenexa, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Kimberly (Daimon) Smith of Bronson, Iowa, and Stephanie Dixon of Atlanta, Ga.; and three step-grandchildren.
