June 10, 2011Edna Marie Dyer, 63, of Anthon died Wednesday, June 8, 2011.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Church of Christ in Oto, Iowa, with Pastor Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Oto Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.
Edna Marie (Handke) Dyer was born Jan. 3, 1948, near Anthon to Gifford and Inga (Metcalf) Handke. She grew up in Oto and graduated in 1966 from Anthon-Oto High School.
On Sept. 13, 1980, she married Keith Dyer near Danbury, Iowa.
She worked at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton for several years. In the late 1980s to early 1990s, she worked at Corrrectionville (Iowa) Nursing and Rehab.
Edna was an active member of Oto United Church of Christ. She was a member of the Mites Society and treasurer of the church board. She loved children and helped with the Footprints children's program at church.
Survivors include her husband, Keith, of Anthon; and her two godchildren, Ryan Gotto of Mapleton, Iowa, and Kristin Heath of Anthon.
