John Robert "Bob" Olson, 87, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011, in Sugar Land, Texas.

Per his wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Settegast-Kopf Co. Funeral Home at Sugar Creek, Texas.

Bob was born July 6, 1923, in Sioux City, the son of John and Anna (Peterson) Olson. He was a veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps and the 185th Sioux City Air National Guard. He worked in the Sioux City Stockyards for most of his career.

Survivors include his nephews, Fred (Jan) Mott and John (Lori) Mott; a niece, Barbara (Mike) Marr; and great-nephews and great-nieces, Chris, Corie, Joshua, Eric, Amanda and Jennifer Mott and Kate and Max Marr.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Ann Olson Mott.
