Fred W. “Fritz” Linscott, 74, of Sloan passed away Aug. 2, 2012, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, officiated by Dr. Emery Killian. Burial will follow in the Sloan Cemetery at Sloan. Visitation will be held 12:30 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Fred was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Sloan, the son of Mose and Hazel (Anderson) Linscott. He graduated from Sloan High School in 1956.

Fritz and Jana Dunagan were united in marriage in 1957. They had two sons together, Glenn and Steve.

Fritz was a very talented, self-employed carpenter. After retiring, he loved spending time with his friends camping, fishing and watching racing.

Fritz is survived by two sons, Glenn Linscott of Ottawa, Kan., and Steve and Teresa Linscott of West Concord, Minn.; and two granddaughters, Rachael and Kelsey Linscott.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Barnes and Ward Linscott; and his sister-in-law, Jean Linscott.
