Agnes Noreen Thomas, 73, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at her home following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Winnebago, Neb., with Jack Lamere officiating. Burial will be in Winnebago Cemetery. Visitation will continue today until service time Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Winnebago Wake and Burial Program.

Agnes was born March 22, 1939, in Winnebago, the daughter of Laurence J. and Irene Gertrude (Waseskuk) Thomas. She attended grade school at St. Augustine Indian Mission in Winnebago. She attended high school at Marty (S.D.) Indian Mission School.

She worked at Cargill for 14 years and at WinnaVegas Casino for 18 years. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City.

Agnes played bingo and participated in pool and cribbage leagues in Sioux City.

Survivors include her three daughters, Gloria L. Thomas, Rhonda J. Thomas and Alicia A. Thomas; a brother, Anthony J. Thomas; two grandsons, three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Laurence Thomas Jr. and Francis S. Thomas; and a sister, Delores M. Thomas.

Pallbearers will be Roger Whitebeaver, Buddy Roy, Heath and Cody Campbell and Robert, Richard and Dave Thomas.
