August 19, 2012Betty L. Stalcup, 84, of Eugene, Ore., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, in Eugene after a brief illness.
Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Musgrove Mortuary in Eugene.
Betty was born Jan. 25, 1928, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Harold and Mildred (Kingsbury) Duffy. She graduated from Des Moines North High School in 1945.
She married Robert Stalcup on Aug. 24, 1951, in Des Moines. He died Nov. 26, 1996, in Minneapolis.
They resided in Rock Rapids, Iowa, Sioux City and Minneapolis before retiring in Eugene.
Betty was employed at Home Federal, First Presbyterian Church and the Clothes Peddler.
She enjoyed watching golf, tennis, Oregon Ducks football, Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the Cascades Mountains and to the coast.
Survivors include her children, Kurt Stalcup of Sioux City, Kristi Flewelling of Lawton, Iowa, Kendal "Poodie" Moriston of Sioux City and Kregg (Dana) Stalcup of Eugene; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother; a sister and a great-grandson.
