Lloyd O. Todd, 91, of Cushing passed away SundJuly 20, 2011 12:00 am

CUSHING, Iowa -- Lloyd O. Todd, 91, of Cushing passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society in Holstein, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, Iowa, with the Rev. Sheryl K. Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Cushing Cemetery. The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Correctionville is in charge of the arrangements.

Lloyd Todd was born Feb. 9, 1920, to Henry and Cassie (Adamson) Todd, in rural Correctionville.

He married LaVonne Martin on Feb. 14, 1942. The couple farmed in the Cushing and Correctionville area. They raised purebred Hampshire hogs, and sold purebred boars and sows to customers in Okinawa, Japan. Lloyd farmed for 42 years, and he and LaVonne farmed for 38 years together, retiring in 1980.

Lloyd was an avid fisherman, gardener, and card player. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cushing. He also served on several boards including Pork Producers, Woodbury County Extension Board, Production Credit Association and Soil Conservation. He was a member of the Cushing Firemen and was a Boy Scouts leader.

He is survived by his wife, LaVonne; children, Marcia (Don) Albers of Jewell, Iowa, Eugene (Claudene) Todd of Chesterfield, Mo., Roxann (Robert) Paulsen of Longwood, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Henry Todd Jr., Leonard (Phyllis) Todd, Ruby (Everett) King, Pearl (Bruce) Riordan, and Wilbur Todd.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hannah, Florence and Wilma; and brothers, Fred, John and Loren.
