Gloria “Jean” Leckband, 76, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at a local hospital.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Allan Wicks officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be sent to meyerbroschapels.com.

Jean, the daughter of Frank L. and Mary Ann (Mason) McWilliams, was born on March 22, 1936, in Sioux City. She graduated from Central High School in 1954.

Jean married Richard W. Leckband on May 11, 1956, in Sioux City. She had been a lifelong Sioux City resident. She worked at Coney Island and Bush Cleaners part time while she raised her family.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, and cooking. Jean enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends on the computer. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Jean is survived by her husband, Richard of Sioux City; three sons, Doug (Rita) Leckband of Moville, Iowa, David (Debra) Leckband of Moville, and Dan Leckband of Sioux City; two brothers, Bud (Mary) McWilliams of Bradenton, Fla., and Denny (Joanie) McWilliams of Sioux City; two sisters, Joyce Strunc of Omaha, and Dolly (Glen) Christensen of Hinton, Iowa; and four grandchildren, Gina, Jake, Lisa, and Kayla.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
