Gwendolyn Vae “Gwen” Langley, 91, of Sioux City died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Embassy Care Center in Sergeant Bluff, after a brief illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Gwen was born on June 14, 1920, in Pierson, Iowa, the daughter of Guy Kindig and Ada Anne K. (Beeghley).

She was united in marriage to Richard Langley for 70 years. Gwen was a homemaker and lived in Sioux City and rural Westfield, Iowa, most of her life.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Akron, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, Richard "Ossie" E. Langley Sr. of Sergeant Bluff; her children, Bill and Mary Ann of Sioux City, Christine and Jim Van Donselaar of Sioux City, Patricia and Keith Peterson Sloan, Iowa, Jerry and Amanda of Westfield, Iowa, Lucille Langley (Sampson) of Sioux City, and David and Ella of Springfield, Va.; stepsons, Richard Jr. and Nadine of Sioux City, and Jack and Sheila of Sioux City; sister-in-law, Barbara Kindig of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gerald, Sherman (Duane), and Guy Jr.; and grandsons, Ricky and Jon Langley.

Pallbearers will be Steve Langley, Brian Peterson, Jeremy McMillan, Mike Sampson, Jeff Langley, and Curt Langley.

Memorials should be directed to the Langley family.
