Patricia Irene Spray, 79, of Mims, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, died peacefully Friday, July 20, 2012, at her home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Funeral Home, 3220 Stone Park Blvd. in Sioux City. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Patricia was born in Sioux City, to Gladys and Leroy "Bud" Spray. She was the oldest of six children, with three brothers, Larry, Jack and Richard, and two sisters, Sharon and Judith.

She married Thomas John Sardeson of Sioux City, where they resided and were blessed with nine children, LynnDa Kay, Thomas John, Ruth Ann, Ronald Leroy, Robert Ray, William James, Patrick Allen, Pamela Irene and Kathi Sue. She later in life was remarried to Marvin Dreeszen of Sioux City, and together lived in Hinton, Iowa. She and Marvin had one child, Wanda Jo.

Patricia later moved to Lincoln, Neb., where she worked first at Lancaster Manor for 17 years and then at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, where she worked as a physical therapy assistant for 21 years, from which she retired. After retirement she moved to Titusville, Fla., to live with her daughter, Ruth. Although she lived in Florida for the last 10 years of her life, she remained one of Nebraska's most loyal Cornhusker fans. Go Big Red!

One of Patricia's greatest interest was gardening, particularly in her iris and rose beds. She loved traveling and short outings. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting and was an avid novel reader. Patricia did her best to use the Scriptures as a guide to her life, one of her favorite verses being, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." Psalm 23:4.

Patricia is survived by her sister, Judith Nunn (Kenneth) of Mephis, Neb.; eight children, LynnDa Yost (Martin) of Fairbury, Neb., Ruth Sardeson-Thompson (Greg) of Mims, Fla., Ronald Sardeson (Jeannie) of Greenwood, Neb., Robert Sardeson (Maybell) of the Phillipines, William Sardeson of Evansville, Ind., Patrick Sardeson, Pamela Bartlett (Corey), both of Lincoln, Neb., and Wanda Sommers (Kevin) of Platte City, Mo., She was also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry, Jack and Richard Spray; sister, Sharon Hartman; daughter, Kathi Kuenning; and son, Thomas Lillibridge.
