John J. Watkins, 41, of Sioux City, caring son of Hollas and Doris Watkins, joined his father and brother in death on Monday, July 23, 2012, at a Sioux City Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Hubbard, Neb. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

John was born Aug. 24, 1970, in Sioux City, the son of Hollas N.J. and Doris A. (Chase) Watkins. He graduated from Heelan High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1988. He served in Germany and was discharged in 1996.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include his mother, Doris, of Sioux City; five brothers: Stephen, Kevin, David, Thomas and Jeffrey; six sisters: Terri Anne Watkins, Mary Saunders, Susan Moore, Carrie Rustin, Judy Kunze, Julie Carrier; his loving pet beagle, "Beagle"; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hollas; and a brother, Timothy.

Pallbearers will be Nicole Davila, Eric Watkins, Timothy Kunze, Holli Kunze, Kristi Kaye McLeod and Mindi Kelley.
