Orville T. Hicks, 68, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at a Sioux City care center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Revs. Kevin Roach and Janell Norton officiating. A flag presentation by the American Legion will follow. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Orville was born Dec. 9, 1943, in Little Rock, Ark., the son of Orville T. and Antoinette (Surrett) Hicks. He served in the U.S. Army as a cook from May 27, 1964, until May 26, 1967. He later was employed as a prep cook for Carlos O'Kelly's and was a technician for ServiceMaster in South Sioux City.

He enjoyed watching football and racing and also enjoyed mini golf.

Survivors include his son and his wife, Jessie and David Hicks of South Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon.
