Leigh James Stull, 82, of Des Moines died peacefully Monday, April 9, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd., in Sioux City. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Iles Funeral Home-Westover Chapel in Des Moines. Leigh was born on Jan. 24, 1930, in Des Moines, to Fillmore and Ferne Edna (Hollingsworth) Stull. He attended Lincoln High School.

Leigh married Marlene Uhl on April 8, 1961. Sunday was their 51st wedding anniversary. Leigh worked for Allied Insurance for 49 years as a field auditor.

In his earlier years, he was active in Boy Scouts leadership and Right to Life.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Marlene Stull; a son, Jeffrey (Melissa) Stull; a daughter, Julia (Chris) McAllister; five grandchildren, Brittany Stull, Heather Stull, Danielle Stull, Ryan McAllister, and Shelby McAllister; two sisters-in-law, Luann (Robert) Bertrand and Ramona (Richard) Plendl; and a brother-in-law, Patrick Uhl.
