Walter F. Trudeau, 87, of Sioux City died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Deacon Pat Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Walter was born Feb. 27, 1925, in Burbank, S.D., to Phillip and Mabel (Brubaker) Trudeau. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He married Henrietta Bennett on Sept. 26, 1947, in Sioux City. Mr. Trudeau was employed with the city of Sioux City in the water department.

In his free time, Mr. Trudeau loved to fish, hunt and work in his vegetable and flower garden. He also loved the dog races and watching boxing.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Trudeau of Sioux City; one son, Joel Trudeau and his wife, Debra of Sioux City; one daughter, Marla and her husband, Lynn Watson of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Ben Trudeau, Joshua Trudeau, Steve Watson and Gina Watson; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
