Tony Ray Watterson, 53, of Alton, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Westlawn Presbyterian Church, 2521 W. Fourth St., in Sioux City, with the Rev. Paul Spindel officiating.

Tony was born April 4, 1958, in Sioux City, the son of Lee and June (Carlson) Watterson. He was raised in Sioux City and went to Sioux City Community Schools.

Tony married Cindy Rohde on Dec. 2, 1988. Cindy died on Aug. 18, 2009. Tony worked at Aalfs Manufacturing for several years.

Tony loved sports of all kinds, but the Minnesota Vikings was his favorite. Growing up, he spent a lot of time playing ball at Lyon's Park. One of Tony's greatest things was he was an organ donor.

Survivors include his two sons, Jason and Justin, both of Sioux City; a stepson, Nick (Amanda) Swearinger of Sioux City; six grandchildren; a brother, Randy (Karen) Watterson of Sioux City; a sister, Connie (Barry) Fiscus of Jackson, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Watterson of Sergeant Bluff, and Jeannie Boisen of Dakota Dunes; brothers-in-law, Jeff and Craig Rohde of Dakota Dunes; his special friend, Jennifer Langel; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cindy; and two brothers, Howard in 2001, and Dennis in 2009.
