Wayne "Tyke" Cain, 83, of Orange, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2012, in Orange, Calif.

Services were held in California.

Wayne, the son of John "Murphy" and Frances (Milton) Cain, was born Sept. 4, 1928 in Sioux City. He graduated from Trinity High School in Sioux City. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1950.

He married Ann Simon in Sioux City in 1952. They had a son, John. Wayne was the business agent for the Sioux City Sheet Metal Worker's Association in Sioux City for many years.

He moved to California in 1980. He married Alicia Shapiro in Omaha, Neb. on Sept. 20, 1996.

He was a great sports enthusiast and especially loved golf. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Alicia of Orange, Calif.; a son, Brian Wieck; granddaughters, Jocelyn and Grace of Dakota City; sisters, Donna Stabile and Beverly Koson, and a brother, Gary Cain, all of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ann; son, John; and a brother, Mark.
