David A. Ibsgaard, 43, of Sioux City went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Crossroads Evangelical Church in South Sioux City, with C.O. Pritchett officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church.

David was born on Jan 9, 1969, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Robert and Sandra (Fredrickson) Ibsgaard. He grew up in several states until residing in the Sioux City area.

He married Patricia Webb on Sept. 25, 1993, in Dakota City. To this union two children, Kaylyn and Colton, were born. The couple later divorced.

David enjoyed NASCAR, football, spending time with family and friends, especially time with his children.

He is survived by two children; parents; his siblings, Jason (Suzanne) Vanthuyne of Sergeant Bluff, Janelle (Kent) Fullen of Kansas, and Theresa Ibsgaard, Bobby Childers, Alfred Vanthuyne Jr., Jeremy Vanthuyne, all of Sioux City; his ex-wife, Patricia Ibsgaard, Garrison, Neb.; his mother-in-law, Darlene Webb of Sergeant Bluff; several nieces, nephews, a grandniece, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his stepmom, Geraldine "JJ" Childers; and his father-in-law, Brad Webb.

Special thanks to the fifth floor ICU nurses for their care of David during his illness.
