MOVILLE, Iowa -- Roger C. Corbin, 58, of Moville died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. Barb Spaulding officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 today, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Roger was born March 1, 1953, in Kingsley, Iowa, the son of Charles and Carol (Bleasdell) Corbin. He attended school and graduated from Woodbury Central High School. Roger joined the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War as a scout in Germany.

He married Jodi Sparr on Jan. 20, 1979. They made their home in Moville. Roger managed the Northwest Farm Service Station for 23 years. He worked maintenance for the city of Moville for the next nine years until retiring in late 2009 because of illness.

Roger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and his float trips down the Westfork with his kids and grandkids. Roger will be missed by his dogs, Molly, Myha and Mellow.

Survivors include his wife, Jodi Corbin of Moville; three sons, Steven and Dawn Corbin of Moville, Jeremy Corbin of Oregon, and Joshua and Rebecca Corbin of Owings, Md.; a daughter, Jessica Corbin and Richard Hoffman of Hubbard, Neb.; eight grandchildren; his mother, Carol Corbin of Kingsley, Iowa; and two sisters, Linda and Jeff Mahlberg of Moville, and Mary and Lowell Pratt of Mesa, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his father; and fishing partners, Lady and Sadie.
