SIOUX CITY -- Walter Robert "Bob" Williams, 80, formerly of Sioux City passed away Feb. 21, 2012, in Prescott, Ariz.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Hwy 69, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Arrangements are under the direction of Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott. Please visit www.sunrisefuneralhome.com to sign Bob's guest book.

Bob was born on Dec. 17, 1931, in Sioux City, to Walter and Julia (Poindexter) Williams. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in April 1951 and participated in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in April 1954.

While serving in the military, he married Helen Erixson on Oct. 5, 1951. They celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2011. After his military tour of duty, Bob worked for the Pepsi Cola Company, the Keebler Cookies Company, Briar Cliff College and the Sioux City Public Library. Bob and Helen moved to Prescott Valley in 2001, where he worked for the Safeway grocery store and the local Sun Shopper paper.

He loved to play golf and was a member of several bowling leagues over the years. Bob loved life and being with family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife, Helen Williams; daughters, Lynne (Alex) Utkin, Rohnda (David) Farley, Kim (Mark) Davis; a son, Alan Williams; sister, Jenice (Arley) Suggitt; brother, Kenneth (Linda) Williams; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joan Middleswart; a grandson, David Farley Jr.; and a great-grandson, Shawn Nicholson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Wells Fargo Bank in Bob's name
