January 04, 2012Patricia Tovar, 101, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at University Place Nursing Home in Charlotte.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Patricia was born July 6, 1910, in Williams, Ariz., to Adolf and Ursela (Torres) Trejo. She was united in marriage to Salvador Ernest Tovar in 1940 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death in 1988 in Sioux City. She was a homemaker and mother to two daughters.
She enjoyed taking care of her grandkids and great-grandkids. In her younger days, she enjoyed dancing down at the Sioux City Eagles Club.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Carmen Decker of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Rita Savant; a sister; and two brothers.
