Blanche Jane Rustwick, 85, formerly of Sioux City, beloved wife and mother, peacefully passed away in Hot Springs, Ark., on Dec. 30, 2011.

Private services were held Jan. 3 in Arkansas. A celebration of life service will be held in Sioux City in June 2012. Arrangements are under the direction of Caruth-Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Ark.

Born on June 2, 1926, in Sioux City, the second of three daughters of Morris and Genevieve (Villum) Bruckner, Blanche grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School, where she was known as "Tiny".

On Dec. 27, 1947, she married Charles Saunders (deceased). Blanche was employed with Western Newspaper in Sioux City. She later moved to California, where she worked for McDonnell-Douglas. On Nov. 27, 1982, she married Paul Rustwick and again lived in Sioux City.

Blanche was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sioux City. She was an avid poker player and loved dancing with her husband, Paul.

Blanche is survived by her husband, Paul; her sister, Elaine Bue of Sioux City; four daughters and their husbands, Vicki Toothaker and Robert, Lee Croker and Patrick, Judy Stanart and Terry, and Julie Morgan; three stepchildren and their spouses, Lynn Olson and Ron, Tom Rustwick and Cheryl and Gary Rustwick and Pat; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Blanche was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Little.

Memorial remembrances may be made in Blanche's name to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
