Garell O. Saugstad, 68, of Sioux City departed from this life on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Touchstone Living Center.

Memorial service will be held at a later date in Yankton, S.D. He will be laid to rest with his late twin brother, Errol, in Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Ill. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service. Please contact the funeral home for service details, (712) 943-7100.

Garell was born in Yankton, S.D., and lived in Florida for many years before eventually settling in Sioux City. He served with the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1966 to 1968.

He is survived by his father, Earl M. Saugstad of Yankton; his children, Laura and her husband, Bill of Olathe, Kan., Lisa and her husband, Gary of Seven Fields, Pa., Tim of Denver, Colo., and Katie and her husband, Eric of Denver; and his five grandchildren, Cortney, Austin, Ben, Theo, and Sullivan.
