Dolores A. Brenner, age 79, of Mapleton, died Monday, February 9, 1998 at Sioux City, Iowa.

Services were held 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury with Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial was in Danbury Catholic Cemetery. A rosary was held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. by St. Mary's Rosary Society and a vigil wake service at 7:30 p.m. at the Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton.

Dolores Agnes Brenner was born November 14. 1918. In Delhi, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Mary Ellen (O'Brien) Crowley. She grew up with her family in Ryan, Iowa, graduated from high school and attended the convent for one year. She furthered her education by going to college in. Wisconsin and later worked at the telephone company in Manchester. Iowa. On October 19, 1957 Dolores was united in marriage to Norman Brenner in Ryan, Iowa. The couple lived and farmed in the Danbury and Mapleton, Iowa area, along with being a homemaker, she worked for the Maple Valley School System and the Danbury Catholic School. She also worked for Casey's General Store in Mapleton. Norman died suddenly September 12, 1969.

Dolores was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rosary Society as well as the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include one son, Mike Brenner of Des Moines, Iowa: one daughter. Margaret Mary Brenner and her husband, Brock Timbers of Rosemount, Minnesota: one sister, Mary Ellen Leahy of Danbury. Iowa: along with several nieces and nephews, other relatives, neighbors and good friends.

Along with her husband, Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.

Honorary pallbearers were Loren Brenner, Steve Leahy, Joe Leahy, Doug Brouillelle, Michael Leahy and Patrick Leahy. Pallbearers were Mike Brenner, her son; Brock Timbers, her son-in-law; Ed Leahy, Don Leahy, Gary Brouillette, Jim Boyle, Jon Wilcke, Paul Dose, Mike Leahy, Phil Short, Torn Brouillette, Charles Neuroth, Mike Collins and Tim Treiber. Arrangements were made under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton.
