SALIX, Iowa -- Daryl Preston Leisey Sr., 53, of Salix died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Tom Scott officiating. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.rushfamilycareservice.com.

Daryl was born on April 26, 1958, in Hershey, Pa., the son of Jay and Alma (Anderson) Wagner. He graduated from Lebanon High School in Pennsylvania and went on to receive a degree from Le Cordon Bleu North America Culinary School. He worked as an executive chef for many years. He also worked for Tillman Bail Bondsman in Sacramento, Calif.

Daryl and Michelle Hinds were united in marriage on April 1, 1998, in Elk Point, S.D.

Daryl's main hobby in life was his cooking. He also enjoyed traveling, camping, and making people laugh.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Michelle Leisey of Salix; one daughter, Angelina (Lonnie) Frields of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren, Lilianna and Logan Frields of Sacramento; one brother, Troy (Lori) Leisey of Minneapolis, Kan.; two sisters, Tammy (Chris) Ulrich of McPherson, Kan., and Toni LaFlame of Austin, Texas; a father-in-law, Pete Hinds of Bronson, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Paula (Everett) Gunn of South Sioux City, and Pam (Thomas) Dirks of Hornick, Iowa; two brothers-in-law, Roger Hinds of Shreveport, La., and Craig (Lori) Hinds of Bronson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a mother-in-law, Arlene Hinds.
