SIOUX CITY -- Donald E. Law, 83, OF Sioux City died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at a Sergeant Bluff nursing home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cindy Rippenger of Lawton Community Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton, Iowa.

Donald was born on July 26,1928 in Lawton, Iowa. He was the son of Frank Chapman and Jenny Marie (Jones) Law. He was raised in the Lawton area.

He married Mary Lou Oleson on Feb. 4,1953 in Lawton. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. The couple farmed in the Lawton area for several years and then moved to Sioux City in 1974. He worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation doing snow removal. He retired in 1990.

He was a member of the Lawton Community Presbyterian Church. He was known as a very hard and dedicated worker.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of Sergeant Bluff, and a close friend, Larry Maxfield of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
