CUSHING, Iowa | Milton J. Willems, 75, of Cushing passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at his residence of Cushing.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, Iowa, with the Rev. Sheryl K. Ashley officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Correctionville, Iowa. Online condolences can be made at www.nicklasdjensenfh.com.

Milton J. Willems was born on Feb. 19, 1937, in Sioux City, to Mathew and Clementine Huebner Willems. He was one of three sons and three daughters. He started school in Sergeant Bluff and later moved to the family farm near Anthon, Iowa, and graduated from Anthon High School in 1956. Milt served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. When he returned from the service, he began farming.

On Oct. 6, 1973, he married Donna Goettsch. To this union two children were born. In 1976, they purchased their farm near Cushing.

Milt enjoyed all parts of agriculture, making many farm improvements and conversations with friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, talking about farming with AJ and helping Caleb grow best of show potatoes. He also enjoyed traveling to the mountains and drinking Dr Pepper.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of Cushing; his daughter, Becky (David) Burns and their children, AJ and Caleb; his son, Bruce and his fiancee, Bre Taylor and her daughter, Heidi.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gerald.
