SIOUX CITY -- Betty Jane McGraw, 91, of Athens, Ohio, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at her home in Athens.

Services will be Saturday, March 24 at Morningside Presbyterian Church in Sioux City, with Pastor Dave Koehler officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany, Ohio.

Betty was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Ainsworth, Neb., the daughter of George and Doris (Collins) Kirkpatrick.

She married Harry L. McGraw in February 1942. He passed away in September 2003.

For several years she was employed as a switchboard operator at the Sioux City Airbase. She later worked as a benefits specialist for the Social Security Administration office in Sioux City, and retired from there.

She was a member of Eastern Star and a 70-year member of Morningside Presbyterian Church. She served the church in many capacities, including as deacon and elder. She was a wonderful mother, loving wife, good neighbor and friend to many. She was loved and will be missed.

Survivors include four children, Michael (Margaret) McGraw of Athens, Douglas (Cynthia) McGraw of Pacific, Mo., James (Barbara) McGraw of Ankeny, Iowa, and Kevin (Diane) McGraw of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Brian (Earlene) Kirkpatrick of Seattle, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and two sisters, Marcia and Patricia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Morningside Presbyterian Church.
