SIOUX CITY -- Harry J. "Corky" Arthur II, 84, of Winter Springs, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, went to heaven Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at home surrounded by family and dear friends.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Tuskawilla United Methodist Church, 3925 Red Bug Lake Road, Casselberry, Fla. The Rev. Molly Warren will be officiating. Arrangements are by National Cremation Society Funeral Home.

He was born in Spirit Lake, Iowa, on Dec. 10, 1927. Corky was a longtime resident of Sioux City until moving to Winter Springs in 1985.

Corky was married to Jean Ann Meisenholder on Aug. 11, 1947. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Corky worked for many years in the banking and real estate industries. He was president and governor of Sertoma in Nebraska, served as commodore of River-Cade, and was a Mason and a member of the Shriners in Sioux City.

In 1993, Corky founded the Tuskawilla Shepherds, a non-profit dedicated to help those in need. He has fed thousands of people in Central Florida. He Came, He Saw, He Fed. Corky also enjoyed gardening, painting and spending times with his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean Ann Arthur; a sister, Helen Sandmeyer; his children, Stephanie (Ron) Ege, Louise Arthur and Harry (Julie) Arthur III; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Pip.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mabel Arthur; a sister, Esther Milholin; and three brothers in-law.
