SIOUX CITY -- Jon, best known as "Doug," Morrison, 69, formerly of Sioux City, a 10-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, in San Dimas, Calif., in the company of his family. For five years, Doug fought a brave battle against pancreatic cancer.

Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3 at Diamond & Sons, 2620 Silver Creek Road in Bullhead City, Ariz.

Doug was born July 3, 1942 in Sioux City, to Joseph and Inez Morrison. Doug graduated from Central High School in 1960.

On Dec. 1, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Ann Church, also of Sioux City. In 1962, they moved to California and settled in Lawndale, where they raised two daughters, Sheri and Tami. Doug was employed by Trans World Airlines for 35 years and also had his own business, "Doug Morrison Painting" for some 40 years in the south bay area. This past December 2011, Doug and Nancy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise party given by their daughters.

Since retiring to Bullhead City in 2002, he loved playing Keno at the Riverside Casino in Laughlin with his wife. Doug was known to those friends as "Nancy's Banker." Doug, an avid Lakers fan, enjoyed his friends, playing golf, fishing, traveling, Sudoku, relaxing in his swing and playing PS3 with his son-in law. Doug's positive attitude and sense of humor set him above the rest. He was a very devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Doug is survived by his wife, Nancy of 50 years; his daughters, Sheri of Kingman, Ariz., and Tami and her husband Jaime and stepgrandchild Alyssa of San Dimas, Calif.; his mother, Inez Morrison of Sioux City; his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Mike Christie of Alba, Texas; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Al Laven of Bullhead City; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Doug was preceded in death by his father and wife's parents.
