SIOUX CITY -- Jeanne D. LaFleur, 83, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at a local nursing facility.

Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial service will be held noon Monday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Inurnment will be 2 p.m. Monday in Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City.

Jeanne was born on Dec. 15, 1928 in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Timothy and Esther Cronan. She was raised in Sioux Falls, where she graduated from Washington High School.

Jeanne married Arnold Frerichs on Dec. 14, 1950. The two later divorced, and she married Stanley LaFleur on June 27, 1981. She was employed at Thomas Mould Lumber Company, Armour Company, and Kay Dee Nutra Flo, where she retired in June of 2004. Jeanne enjoyed football, baseball, reading and playing cards with her friends at the Red Room Lounge.

Jeanne is survived by two sons, Timothy Frerichs and his wife, Janie of El Paso, Texas, and Richard "Rick" Frerichs and his wife, Terri of Augusta, Ga.; a daughter, Susan Zuraff of Sioux City; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and cousin, Janice Baer of Portland, Ore.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Daniel Brinkerhoff; and aunt, Frances Hutchinson.
