SIOUX CITY | Helen (Mikulicz) Plantz of Stockton, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012.

Helen was born in Sioux City on Feb. 28, 1922, the daughter of Joseph and Stella Mikulicz. She met and married the love of her life, Alvin Plantz.

She worked at Swift and Company and Sunshine Food Market, until she and Alvin moved to Stockton in the early 1970s. She then worked at various grocery stores as a meat wrapper until retiring.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy (Jack) McKenna of Lincoln, Calif., Debi (Faron) Booth of Marion, Ohio, and Donna (Ken) Dutton of Stockton; a son, Jon (Janet) Plantz of Modesto, Calif.; six grandsons; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and a sister, Dorothy (Arlo) Hansen of Ralston, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin Plantz, and her dear son, Donald Plantz.

Helen was the heart and soul of the family and will be loved and missed by all.
