SIOUX CITY | Steven Carl Anderson, 42, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at a local care facility following a brief battle with cancer.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Nelson Berger Northside Chapel. Per Steven’s request, cremation will take place after the service. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

Steve was born on July 30, 1969, in Sterling, Ill., the son of Richard Sr. and Sharolyn (Tackett) Anderson. He attended school at Hawthorne, Hoover, and North High School. In his younger years, Steven was very devoted to the Scouts and became an Eagle Scout. Steve loved to work. He worked full-time for J&L Enterprises, where he worked as a lift driver for Tur Pak.

Steve loved being outdoors and gardening, but his greatest love was fishing. He had many friends and all who knew him will miss him greatly.

Survivors include his mother, Sharolyn “Sherry” Anderson of Sioux City; his daughter, Gracie Linn Davis of Sioux City; his fiancee, Connie Nichols of Sioux City; two brothers, Richard (Lorraine) Anderson Jr. of Salix, Iowa, and Terry Anderson of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Michael.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Anderson, Bobby Vogel, Bill Burns, Jon Wikstrom, Troy Smothers, and James Vogel.
