24 May 2012SIOUX CITY | Bert A. Stoneburg, 87, of Sun City West, Ariz., formerly of Sioux City, passed away peacefully Monday, May 21, 2012.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Church on the Green in Sun City West. Interment will be in National Memorial Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army. Arrangements are under the direction of Sunland Funeral Home in Sun City, Ariz.
Bert was born on March 10, 1925, in Sioux City, to Victor and Mary Hawkins Stoneburg.
He was married to Geraldine Hillery on Oct. 16, 1943, in South Sioux City. He was a business entrepreneur in Sioux City from 1947 until 1999, at which time they retired to Arizona.
Bert is survived by his wife of 69 years, Gerry Stoneburg of Sun City West; children, Gary (JaNell) Stoneburg of Omaha, and Vicki (Ray) Godin of Sun City West.; four grandchildren, Doug (Jaci) Baker, Stephanie (Thomas) Allen, Derek (Pam) Stoneburg, and Sara (Dean) Coca; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Bert was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Ray; parents, Victor and Mary; brother, Vanner; sisters, Margaret and Laverne.
