Hugo Grubel, Sr.

Hugo Grubel, sr., 91, 215 Rustin street, died Tuesday at a hospital after a brief illness. He had resided in Sioux City 77 years.

Mr. Grubel was born April 16, 1866 in Germany. He came to America at the age of 14. He married Nellie Fretheim in Sioux City in 1866. She died in Sioux City in April of 1927. At one time he owned and operated the City Dressed Beef Co.

Survivors include five sons, Charles Henry, Hugo jr., and George, and Anthony of Humboldt, Ia., a daughter, Mrs Anna Willis of Sioux City, 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

The Nelson Berger funeral home in Morningside has charge of arrangements.
