Longtime druggist Jack Zuparn died
Jack Zuparn, 86, 514 32nd St., longtime Sioux City druggist, died Wednesday at his residence after a long illness.
Graveside Masonic services will be conducted by Landmark Lodge 103 AF&AM at 11 a.m. Friday in the Floyd Cemetery. The Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Zuparn was born Feb. 9, 1896, in Dushore, Pa. and had been a resident of Sioux City since 1919.
He married Ella Stoltze July 19, 1922, at Le Mars, Iowa. He operated the Zuparn-Hughes Drug Store at Fourth and Douglas and Fourth and Pearl Sts. from 1942 until 1962, when he retired.
He was a 50-year member of Landmark Lodge 103 AF&AM, the Sioux City Scottish Rite Bodies and Abu Bekr Shrine Temple. He was chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Soil Conservation Committee for 10 years.
A memorial has been established in his name with the Abu Bekr Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Marian of Sioux City; three brothers and two sisters living in New York City.
