Moville, Iowa—John E. Forch, 70, of Moville, died Sunday, August 11, 1996 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Kingsley following a long illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville with Monsignor Roger J. Augustine officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Township Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the American Legion Post 0303 of Moville. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. today at the Larkin Morningside Funeral Home. The body will then be taken to the church where visitation will be 6 to 8:30 p.m. with the parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Forch was born July 7, 1926, in Danbury, Iowa and was raised in Anthon, Iowa.

He married Mary Lou Hawn January 20, 1948, in Anthon. The couple made their home in Anthon until 1955 when they moved to Moville.

A construction worker, he was employed by the Tom Flewelling Co., Booth & Olson Construction Co., and Irving F. Jensen Co., retiring in September 1980.

Mr. Forch was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, American Legion Post 0303 of Moville and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1973 of Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Patti and her husband, Tom Prince of Sergeant Bluff, Penny and her husband, Barry Thomas, of Moville, Peggy Vohs and special friend, Wade Nelson of Anthon and Judi and her husband, Charlie Bromander of Smithland; a son, John F. and his wife, Marie of Moville; four sisters, Mary Jo Dicks of Menomonie, Wis., Margaret Ann and her husband Rich Roark of Anthon, Cecelia and her husband, Jim Karhoff of Anthon and Kay and her husband Jim Fredrick of Shanandoah; a brother, Jim and his wife, Olien of Sioux City and 14 grandchildren, Melanie Bouman, Mimdi and Sherry Prince, Travis amnd Bernie Thomas, Missy and Marty Vohs, Tanya, Timmins, Toby and Dani Davidson, Curtis Parks, Trapper Forch, Jennifer Thompson and Ted Bromander.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert R. and Margaret B. (Leahy) Forch and a brother, Vincent Forch.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Forch, Hooley McGuire, Ed Leahy, Frank Cunningham, Jim Moss and Curt Jones.
