LAWTON, Iowa - Robert Hinrichs, 79, of Lawton died Saturday, June 23, 2001, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Lu-theran Church with the Rev. Bruce Jackson officiating. Bu-rial will be in Banner Township Cemetery in Lawton. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hinrichs was born Aug. 2, 1921, in Kingsley Township, Iowa, the son of John Martin and Zora Belle (Zenor) Hinrichs. He attended and graduated from Lawton High School in 1938. He was a longtime resident of the Lawton area. He married Elaine Walter on Dec. 25, 1939, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He farmed in the Lawton area.

He attended Bethany Lutheran Church and was involved in various offices in the church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was involved with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Sea Explorer Scouts, and was an avid sailor.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Vernon Brice of Lawton; two sons and their wives, Larry and Barbara Hinrichs of Lawton, and Robert and Jolene Hinrichs of Sigourney, Iowa; a brother, Wayne Hinrichs of Lawton; 11 grandchildren, Wendy, Kevin, David, Kristi, Jeff, Martin, Kara, Dan, Mara, Shara and Darin; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Fern Hinrichs; and a granddaughter, Lara Hinrichs.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Holtz, John Miller, Norman Thoreson, Terry Johnson, Tim Zenor and Mort Zenor.
