LAWTON, Iowa -- Albert Harvey Ellison, 88, of Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, formerly of Lawton and a longtime Lawton area farmer, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, with the Rev. Wayne Peach officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City.

Mr. Ellison was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Lawton, the son of Harvey Rae and Edna (Martin) Ellison. He attended Lawton Community School. He was a lifelong Lawton resident.

He married Pearl Mae Stilwell on Sept. 30, 1936, in Lawton. He farmed in the Lawton area and was a seed corn salesman for Lynks Seed Co. for more than 50 years.

He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, where he served as a former elder. He also was a member of the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl Mae Ellison of Lawton; two sons and their wives, Garry and Sylvia Ellison of Onawa, Iowa, and Richard and Dawn Ellison of Lawton; a sister, Fern Stilwell of California; four grandsons, Jeff Ellison and his wife, Sherri of Omaha, Rick Ellison and his wife, Sue of Sioux City, Kevin Ellison of South Sioux City, and Chris Ellison and his wife, Jina of South Sioux City; a granddaughter, Cynthia Kuhlmann and her husband, Doug of Onawa; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Howard Stilwell.

Pallbearers will be Chris, Garry, Jeff, Kevin, Richard and Rick Ellison.

Memorials may be directed to Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton.
