Junior Ray Glover, 76, of Sioux City died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at a Sioux Falls, S.D., hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, Iowa, with the Rev. Wayne Peach officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Glover was born June 18, 1925, in Lawton, the son of Ernest Ray and Gertrude (Johnson) Glover. He graduated from Lawton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1946.

He married Yvonne Miller in September 1949, in Sioux City. To this union three children were born, Jeff, Pam and Denise. He had lived in the Sioux City and Lawton area his entire life. He retired as a truck driver from National Foods. He had also worked for Knapp and Spencer in Sioux City, and the Palmer House in Sioux City for 35 years.

He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, Teamsters Local 554, Farm Bureau, American Legion Post 0718 of Lawton, Disabled American Veterans Chapter IA61 of Sergeant Bluff, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1973 of Sioux City.

Survivors include his son, Jeff Glover of Sergeant Bluff; a daughter, Pamela Hovde of Sioux City; two sisters and their husbands, Esther and Edgar Flammang of Sioux City, and Venona and Len Schneider of Emmett, Idaho; a brother, John "Bill" W. Glover of Lawton; three grandsons, Eric, Shawn and Ryan Hovde; and two stepgrandchildren, Mike Bales and Melissa Burns.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Denise McBride; and two brothers, Bud and Dick Glover.

Pallbearers will be Kevin and Kirk Flammang, Mark Glover and Eric, Shawn and Ryan Hovde.
