SIOUX CITY -- Marilyn Katherine Davidson, 57, of Tuscola, Ill., formerly of Sioux City, passed away at 9:02 a.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011, at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Mattoon, Ill.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, with the Rev. Barry Harmon as celebrant. Burial will be in Tuscola Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with a vigil service at 3 p.m., at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola. Marilyn was born Sept. 7, 1953, in Sioux City, the daughter of Edward and Mary Murray Motz.

She married Richard "Rick" D. Davidson on July 2, 1977 in Edwardsville, Ill. She worked as a dental hygienist for Prairie Circle Dental in Tuscola with her family.

She was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church. She served on the Tuscola School Board for many years. Marilyn was an advocate for the International Thanksgiving Fellowship. She had a passion for and always opened her home for international guests. Her pastimes included playing bridge, gardening and her love for dogs.

Other survivors include her husband, Rick; her children, Capt. Zachary Davidson of Tampa, Fla., Dr. Madalyn Weeks and husband, Ryan, of Tuscola and Mallory Davidson of Tuscola; her parents, Edward and Mary Motz of Sioux City; five brothers, Richard Motz of Sioux City, Robert Motz of Sioux City, Dr. Dennis Motz of Sioux Falls, S.D., William Motz of San Antonio, Texas, and Cesar Narvaez of Sioux City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Catholic Charities or to the International Thanksgiving Fellowship.
