SIOUX CITY -- Yvonne Louise Sneed, 89, of Sioux City died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with David Miller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.christysmith.com.

Yvonne was born Aug. 6, 1921, in Sioux City, the daughter of Raymond and Edna (Roman) Cormany. She attended school and graduated from Central High School in 1938.

Yvonne married Walter Cripps in 1940. Walter died in 1966. She later married James Sneed in 1969. James died in April 2008. She worked as a clerk at T.S. Martin for several years. She also worked at Younkers and Parkinson's Music.

She was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church and a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She had taught Sunday School in the past. She also was a member of Floyd Golf Course.

Survivors include two sons, Mark and Sandy Cripps and Doug Cripps, all of Sioux City; a stepson, Jim and Linda Sneed of California; a stepdaughter, Ann and Gene Fosnight of Boulder, Colo.; a grandson, Russell Cripps; two stepgranddaughters, Elizabeth and Jennifer; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Herbert and Donna Cormany of Eatonville, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first and second husbands; a brother and his wife, Charles and Lucille Cormany; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frances and Walter Case.
